Rajasthan MBBS Doctors Demand Immediate Release of Medical Officer Recruitment Exam dates, threaten Protest
Jaipur: Demanding an immediate release of the Medical Officer (MO) Recruitment 2024 exam dates, the doctors in Rajasthan under the Rajasthan MBBS Doctors have issued a stern ultimatum to the authorities.
Submitting their representation to the Registrar of the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), the All Rajasthan MBBS Doctors Association has warned that if their demands were not met by January 7, the doctors would commence a mass protest in Jaipur.
Originally scheduled for November 17, the exam was later postponed, and since then, the candidates have been waiting for the release of exam dates. This has resulted in frustration among the candidates, explained Dr. Vinod Sharma Bagra, the President of the association.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that highlighting the shortage of doctors in State Government facilities, including primary healthcare centres, Rajasthan doctors had urged the Government to increase the number of medical officer posts. Further, the All Rajasthan MBBS Doctors' Association pointed out how the officers leave their posts after being selected for PG medical education.

Therefore, the association had requested the Government to fill up the vacant posts after the completion of the National Eligibility--Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) counseling.
Now, it is expected that the counseling for admission to PG medical courses will conclude by the third week of January. Amid this, the association has now approached the RUHS demanding an immediate release of the MO Recruitment 2024 Exam date.
Speaking to Medical Dialogues, Dr. Bagra said that their demand is that the exam gets conducted in February 2024 and the exam date gets released at the earliest.
He also informed how vacancies for 260 posts have been added to the existing vacancies for 1220 posts and it is being reported that the total number of vacancies may go up to 1700. Amid the increased number of vacant posts, he argued that the date for the exam should be released at the earliest.
In this regard, Dr. Bagra, the president of the association recently submitted a representation to RUHS Registrar Shri Harphool Pankaj. In a letter directed to the University, the association pointed out that "almost 40 days have passed since the Medical Officer recruitment to be held on 17th November was postponed and the counseling of NEET PG 2024 is also going to be completed soon by 20th January but the new exam date has not been announced yet, so all the candidates giving the exam are very upset mentally!!"
"Therefore, it is a humble request to you to announce the new exam date as soon as possible, and please get the new exam date done in the last week of January or the first week of February,...!!" the letter further added.
