Bhubaneswar: A timely intervention by a surgery specialist from SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, saved the life of an elderly woman who collapsed mid-air during a late-night flight from Bhubaneswar to Jaipur via Delhi.
According to the news reports, the incident took place around 1:30 AM, when most passengers were asleep. Suddenly, panic spread through the cabin as an elderly woman lost consciousness. Seated just a few rows away, Dr. Nayak responded immediately after the cabin crew made an urgent announcement requesting medical assistance.

He conducted a basic assessment using the limited medical equipment available, including a BP monitor. Upon discovering that her blood pressure was critically low, he realized the situation was grave.`
