Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a young doctor serving as a COVID warrior despite being born with Rickets eventually succumbed to the fatal virus on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Dr Manu V, a 27-year-old medico attached to a Primary Health Center in Chintamani, Chikkballapur district.

The doctor was a resident of Chintamani and was appointed as a medical officer in Burudugunte PHC. He pursued his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute and he graduated in 2012.
The medical officer tested COVID positive two weeks ago and was undergoing treatment in Bengaluru Hospital. He was born with a congential bone disease called Rickets and was unable to move around without support, reports Times of India.
As per members of Karnataka Resident Doctors Association, the doctor already received vaccination against COVID but he contracted the virus. The association has requested the government to take necessary steps to provide financial assistance to the bereaved family.

The untimely death of a young doctor has brought grief into the medical community.

His batch mates extended their condolences and remembered him for his indomitable spirit to overcome his physical disabilities in order to serve the poor and the needy patients, reports the daily.
