Surgeon Cheated with Faulty Oxygen Plant worth Rs 82 lakh, Files Case against Company

As per the allegations of the doctor, even though the company installed an oxygen plant at hospital back in July 2021, it didn't function properly, reports Times Now.

Last year, during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the same hospital had faced a crisis when the district administration had come forward to solve the issue. Around the same time, the Uttar Pradesh Government had given orders to set up additional oxygen plants in 39 hospitals and in 855 CHCs for the continuous supply of medical oxygen, UNI had reported.

The doctor, who runs the Meerut-based KMC Medical Institute, had taken the decision of setting up an oxygen plant during the COVID pandemic back in July 2021.

As per the latest media report by Times Now, for this purpose, the doctor had contacted the Ghaziabad-based company's director and his son. The company, in turn, had given the surgeon an estimate of around Rs 88 lakh for setting up an oxygen plant. This amount was excluding the taxes.

Following this, the doctor had finalized the order. Later, he claimed that the oxygen plant allegedly never worked smoothly. Apart from this, the plant is yet to be officially handed over to the hospital, alleged the doctor.

After allegedly facing huge loss, the doctor finally approached the Ghaziabad Police and sought help for taking action against the company and its owner. Following the orders of the SSP, the police registered a case against the father-son duo of the company.

The doctor has reportedly alleged that the oxygen plant is failing to produce the required amount of oxygen. In fact, the faulty plant also cost the hospital a huge burden of power bill of around Rs 12,000 on a daily basis, it has been claimed by the doctor.
