Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a medical officer of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kapugallu has been accused of sexually harassing a female doctor at Suryapet General Hospital.

In response to the allegations, the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) ordered an enquiry in this regard by referring it to the Committee Against Sexual Harassment. The committee has been asked to submit a report soon.

The action was taken by the authorities following a complaint made by a female doctor on May 25 against a government doctor alleging that she was subjected to sexual misconduct.

According to Suryapet district authorities, as reported by TOI, Senior officials tried to reach out to the doctor who was the subject of the complaint, however, they were unable to get in touch with him. The accused doctor had also sought leave for a period of 10 days from May 30.
