Tamil Nadu Medical Council Invites Nominations for Medical Excellence Awards 2024, Check Out Details Here
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Medical Council is pleased to call for the nominations for the ''Medical Council Awards 2024 for Medical Excellence'' from eminent eligible doctors coming under various categories.
The nominations can be sent by the eligible Doctors, under the three categories mentioned below.
The last date for application for the nominations will be 3 PM on 20.06.2024.

The meritorious doctors among the nominations will be selected for the “Medical Council Awards-2024 for Medical Excellence” as per the criteria/ scoring followed by the Selection Committee of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council. The Awards will be given in an “Awards Function” to be held in Chennai by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and the date will be announced later.
General eligibility:
1) The applicant must have registered in Tamil Nadu Medical Council.
2) The applicant must have unblemished Moral, Ethical and Professional Conducts and no pending criminal cases against them.

Category I Eminent Medical Teacher Awards
Category II Specialities & Research Awards
Category III Outstanding service in the field of Socio Medical Relief Awards
Method of selection:
Members of Selection Committee of the Tamilnadu Medical Council will evaluate each of the eligible applications individually under various parameters defined. The scores of all the members will be consolidated and listed. The best candidate in each category will be given the Award.
The applicant should apply only in the prescribed format. The applicant may list their credentials in the application and enclose relevant supportive documents.
The following criteria may add to the credit of the applicant.
1. The applicant must have a minimum of 15 years experience in that category. Additional experience will have advantage.
2. The overall good opinion on the ethical, moral, professional stature of the individual is a must
3. Additional qualification in the form of degree, diploma, Superspeciality, doctorate, other qualifications may add up to the credit.
4. National, International, State District Awards depending on the Institution awarding it will add up to the points:
5. Authoring or co-authoring a topic or chapter in Medical Text books will be very valuable points.
6. Publication of Scientific Papers in indexed Journals will be given merit.
7. Presenting Papers. Chairing Scientific Sessions in International, National, State Conferences can be specified.
8. Applicant may specifically state about the hours of Students Classes/ Lectures/ CME/ in Local Academic Forums - Medical Colleges, IMA branches/ Hospitals etc.
9. Details of Active Social work and in various medical projects will add points.
10. Services, if any, in Hills and Tribal areas with the period and the details of the service will add credit.
11. Membership in Indian Medical Association, Tamil Nadu Government Doctors Association, Speciality Associations (as in API, ASI, FOGSI, IAP, IOP, ISA, etc) will get some weightage.
12. Membership in NGO/ Red Cross/ Rotary/ Lions Club will give some leverage.
13. Other credentials, the applicant can specifically present with supportive documents.
14. The applicant should enclose Self-attested Photostat copies of supportive documents like – Certificates, Awards, News papers, Journals, articles, brochures, invitations, magazines, textbook chapters, Other supportive documents etc. Originals should be produced when sought by the council.
