Acting on specific inputs, inspection teams led by TGMC Vice Chairman Dr. Srinivas Gundagani and Dr. Srikanth Varma conducted surprise raids under the supervision of Registrar Dr D. Lalayya Kumar and Chairman Dr K. Mahesh Kumar.
According to the Hindu, during the inspection in Haliya, officials discovered that unregistered practitioners were treating patients. At Star Clinic, Syed Babu was found handling paediatric cases, while Bahadur was running Bahadur First Aid Centre. At Sri Dasu First Aid Centre, a lab technician named Dasu and a nurse, Sridevi, were offering medical treatment without proper qualifications. Similarly, Panduranga Nayak was operating Venkat Padma Clinic, said a release.
In the neighbouring Nidmanoor mandal, more unauthorized practices came to light. At the Srilakshmi First Aid Centre, an unqualified individual was found running the facility. Similarly, at Sandhya Diagnostic Centre, a GNM nurse was illegally practising as a doctor. Meanwhile, Balakrishna was operating the Shiva First Aid Centre without proper authorization. Across all three centres, antibiotics, steroids, and painkiller injections were being administered indiscriminately, in blatant violation of both the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act and the Telangana Medical Practitioners Registration (TMPR) Act.
TGMC has confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated. Offenders may face up to one year imprisonment and fines of up to ₹5 lakh, as prescribed under the NMC Act and TMPR Act.

Issuing a strong advisory to the public, Dr. G. Srinivas, representing TGMC, urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid seeking treatment from unverified sources. He also encouraged people to report instances of illegal medical practice directly to the Council via WhatsApp at 9154382727.
