Hoshiarpur: In a tragic incident, a 34-year-old doctor lost his life in a road accident on the Hoshiarpur–Jalandhar main road, sending shockwaves through the local community. 

According to the news reports, Dr Navreet Singh Mandial, son of former Senior Medical Officer and noted dental specialist Dr Jaswant Singh Mandial, died on Wednesday night, when his motorcycle reportedly went out of control and collided with an unidentified vehicle near a factory along the busy stretch of road.

The doctor had earlier visited his ancestral village, Mandialan, for agricultural work. At around 8:30 pm, while returning home to Hoshiarpur, the accident occurred, leaving him critically injured.

He was being rushed to the Civil Hospital in Hoshiarpur in a critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way, reports Tribune India.

His untimely demise has cast a pall of gloom over the city and his native village, Mandialan.  

In a similar tragic incident reported earlier, a doctor couple was killed after their car collided with a parked container truck on a highway near a toll plaza under the Sarai police station area of Vaishali district.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a tragic incident, a doctor couple was killed when their car collided with a parked container truck on the highway, near a toll plaza under the Sarai police station area of Vaishali district, officials said. The couple were residents of Patna district and were returning home from Araria at the time of the incident. According to Sarai police station in-charge Mani Bhushan Kumar, the accident took place at 4.15 a.m. on the Muzaffarpur-Patna highway.
