UP: Paediatrician saves newborn after 7 minutes of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, video wins heart
"There have been several incidents in the past when Dr. Chaudhary was able to revive newborn children in critical condition. Only this time, a staffer was able to record the entire episode," said Dr. Sanjeev Verma.
Agra: Months after an Agra-based doctor was showered with praises after a video of her saving a newborn by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) went viral on social media in March, the video has once again gone viral on social media, with various users hailing her as a God.
The video has been viewed more than 10 lakh times. The doctor has been identified as Dr. Surekha Suruse Chaudhary, a paediatrician at a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Uttar Pradesh's Agra who successfully helped in the normal delivery of a patient, following which there was no movement of the baby.

The doctor put the baby on oxygen support, which didn't lead to anything. She then gave mouth-to-mouth respiration for around seven minutes, after which the baby again began breathing, reports Odisha TV.
Speaking to the Times of India, Dr. Surekha Suruse Chaudhary, a paediatrician at CHC Etmadpur Hospital, said, "A patient named Khushboo was admitted. She had a normal delivery and gave birth to a girl child. But the newborn had difficulty breathing due to prolonged labour. Initially, we tried massaging the baby's back and feet for a minute, but it didn't work. Then, we used a mechanical ventilation equipment called an Ambu bag and an oxygen cylinder. Despite using all the procedures, the child didn't respond. Finally, I proceeded with CPR. The baby girl was revived after 7 minutes of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation."
Praising Dr. Chaudhary, superintendent of CHC Etmadpur, Dr. Sanjeev Verma said, "There have been several incidents in the past when Dr. Chaudhary was able to revive newborn children in critical condition. Only this time, a staffer was able to record the entire episode."
The incident occurred in March 2022 at Etmadpur, Agra, and the video was shared on Twitter and several other media platforms. The video again went viral after a UP-based police official Sachin Kaushik reshared the video on Twitter.
