Gurugram: In a disturbing case of road rage, a woman doctor was allegedly attacked and her car vandalised by two men on Golf Course Road after she objected to their wrong-side driving. The police booked both suspects on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Dr. Niharika Jaiswal, a resident of Sector 54, was driving near the Sector 55/56 Rapid Metro station between 5 and 6 p.m. on June 10, when a car approaching from the wrong direction brushed against her vehicle. When Dr. Jaiswal confronted the occupants, a heated argument ensued, police said.

According to a senior police officer, the two male occupants of the offending vehicle allegedly hurled abuses at Dr. Jaiswal, manhandled her, and vandalised her car during the altercation. The men then fled the scene before police arrived.

Dr. Jaiswal promptly filed a complaint the same day at Sector 56 police station, triggering an investigation. Police were able to trace the car involved to a woman residing in an upscale condominium in DLF Phase III. Notices were sent to her residence and also delivered via WhatsApp, but authorities reported no cooperation.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sandeep Kumar, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said, “A team visited her residence in DLF Phase III but found no one. The notice was also sent via WhatsApp. As no response was received, we booked them.”

An FIR was registered at Sector 56 police station late Tuesday under sections 125, 126, 281, 3(5), 324(4), and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the suspects, police said, reports Hindustan Times.
