DCP (West) Hanuman Prasad Meena said that the doctor found the English-language note in an envelope near his home's gate while leaving to drop his daughter off at school. According to TOI, the typed letter stated- "You don't realise you're putting your family's life in danger. Quietly hand over Rs 40 lakh."
The doctor, who runs a private clinic, was disturbed by the threat and immediately reported the matter to the Karni Vihar police station.
Investigators have launched an inquiry, reviewing CCTV footage from the previous night. Authorities believe the suspects approached the residence under the cover of darkness.
According to police officials, the language and tone of the letter are atypical for extortion cases in the region. While investigations are underway, no suspects have been identified so far.

Speaking to TOI, Meena said, "The language of the letter does not suggest anything pointing to the involvement of a gang; it appears more to be the handiwork of a former employee or someone acquainted with the doctor who targeted him."
In light of the threat, police have enhanced security at the doctor’s residence and are actively pursuing all leads.
Meena stated that the language of the letter appeared incoherent and improper, suggesting that the person behind it was likely not well-educated. He added that the police are making every possible effort to track down the suspect as quickly as possible.
