Mohali: Raising his voice against an illegal activity turned into a traumatic incident for a doctor who was allegedly assaulted with swords, sticks, and stones, and threatened with death by a group of drug addicts consuming and peddling narcotics outside his clinic in the Godown area of Zirakpur. The doctor sustained serious injuries in the attack.

Apart from assaulting the doctor, the group also vandalised his family clinic. The assailants smashed glass panes, scattered medicines, and ransacked the premises.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the doctor stepped outside his clinic and noticed the group consuming and selling drugs on the street. According to him, they had been doing this repeatedly in the past.

Police said they are investigating the case and reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the culprits.
