Executive Director of FCI, Rabindra Kumar Agarwal IAS takes charge as New AIIMS Deputy Director
New Delhi: The cabinet has appointed IAS Rabindra Kumar Agarwal as the new Deputy Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi after keeping the senior administration post vacant for more than a year.
Agarwal is appointed under the Department of Health and Family Welfare with pay at Level 14 in the Pay Matrix for a combined tenure upto May 31, 2023, or until further orders.
"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Health & Family Welfare for the appointment of Rabindra Kumar Agarwal, lAS (KL: 1997) as Deputy Director (Administration) (JS level), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi under the Department of Health & Family Welfare with pay at Level 14 in the Pay Matrix for a combined tenure upto 31.05.2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier," the order reads.
Agarwal is an IAS from Kerala Cadre, batch 1997, and currently serves as Executive Director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and would succeed IAS Subhasish Panda from Himachal Pradesh Cadre (batch 1997).
Rabindra Agarwal has been appointed as Executive Director (General), Food Corporation of India for a combined period of seven years i.e. upto 10.05.2022.

Subhashish Panda, IAS officer Himachal Pradesh 1997 batch has been appointed as Deputy Director (JS level), AIIMS in 2018 under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, on a lateral shift basis.
Panda was transferred to his home state in April last year to serve as Principal Secretary of the state government's Public Works Department (PWD).
The position was empty since then. However, it was held as an additional charge by Vishal Chauhan who is a joint secretary at the Union Health Ministry.
