28 Hospitals booked in Telangana over CM Relief Fund Fraud
Hyderabad: Altogether 28 hospitals across the State of Telangana have been booked by the Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) after a fraud concerning the Chief Minister's Relief Fund came to light.
Among these 28 hospitals, 10 hospitals are located in Hyderabad and the rest of the hospitals are situated in other districts in the State- 10 hospitals in Khammam, 3 hospitals in Nalgonda, 2 hospitals in Karimnagar, 1 in Warangal, and 2 hospitals in Mahabubabad.
It has been reported that these hospitals submitted fraudulent bills to siphon off money from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF). After a complaint was filed in this regard by the Section Officer (FAC) from the Revenue Department (CMRF) at the Telangana Secretariat, the Telangana CID registered six First Information Reports (FIRs) against them, Siasat has reported.
The Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy ordered the prove after detecting the alleged scam during the rule of the previous government.
As per the latest media report by Siasat, the matter came to light after D.S.N. Murthy, Section Officer (FAC) from the Revenue Department (CMRF) at the Telangana Secretariat filed a complaint in this regard. The complainant alleged that fabricated medical bills were submitted to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO_ for reimbursement under the CRMF scheme.
While conducting the preliminary investigation, it was found that the individuals involved in the crime had meticulously coordinated their efforts. Meanwhile, the Telangana Government has assured to take strict action against those involved in the scam.
The Hindu has reported that the scam involved hospital employees and local individuals colluding with hospital administration to create fake bills and submit the same to get a reimbursement from the CMRF. The Daily has reported that filing the complainant, D.S.N. Murthy alleged that the employees of Khamma-based Sri Srikara Multispeciality Hospital, Global Multispecialty Hospital; Dr. J.R Prasad Hospital; Sri Vinayaka Super Speciality Hospital; Sri Sai Multispeciality Hospital; Vyshnavi Hospital; Sujatha Hospital; New Amrutha Hospital; Orange Hospital and Megasri Hospital conspired for creating fake medical bills for personal gain.
"These fabricated bills were then submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office for approval and reimbursement from the CMRF, a fund meant to assist citizens facing financial hardships for medical treatment. The scam highlights a disturbing attempt to exploit a critical social welfare program," stated the complaint.
While an investigation is ongoing to identify all the individuals involved in the issue, Telangana CID has not issued any official statement in the matter.

The Hyderabad-based hospitals include Aruna Sree Multi Specialty Hospital, IS Sadan X Road, Sri Krishna Hospital, Saidabad, Janani Hospital, Saidabad, Hiranyaa Hospital, Meerpet, Delta Hospital, Hasthinapuram, Sree Raksha Hospital, BN Reddy Nagar, MMS Hospital, Sagar Ring Road, ADRM Multi Specialty Hospital, Sharadanagar, MMV Indira Multi Specialty Hospital, Kothapet, Sri Sai Thirumala Hospital, Bairamalguda
FIR has been filed against 10 Khammam-based hospitals as well, including Sri Srikara Multispeciality Hospital, Global Multispecialty Hospital, Dr. J.R. Prasad Hospital, Sri Vinayaka Super Speciality Hospital, Sri Sai Multi Specialty Hospital, Vyshnavi Hospital, Sujatha Hospital, New Amrutha Hospital, Orange Hospital, Megasri Hospital, Bonakal.
Further, the list includes 3 Nalgonda-based hospitals including Naveena Multi Specialty Hospital, Miryalaguda, Mahesh Multi Specialty Hospital, Miryalaguda, Amma Hospital, Railway Station Road, 2 Karimnagar-based hospitals including Sapthagiri Hospital, Jammikunta, Sri Sai Hospital, Peddapalli, and Rohini Medicare Pvt. Ltd., Hanumakonda, in Warangal, and 2 hospitals based in Mahabubabad including Sri Sanjeevini Hospital, and Siddhartha Hospital.
