Solan: A four-year-old child, who had been suffering from a severe cough for two days, passed away at Baddi Civil Hospital. The family has alleged that the child's death occured due to being treatment by the doctor.

The incident occurred on the night of February 18th when the child, suffering from a severe cough for two days, was rushed to the hospital by his father at around 2:45 am.

According to Kumar, the doctor on night duty did not examine the child and instead told him to rest the child as he was under sedation. The doctor allegedly instructed Kumar to return in the morning.

The child’s father was a resident of Jharmajri in Baddi, originally from Salooni, Chamba, and arrived at the hospital with his ailing child in an ambulance. According to his father, the child's condition was deteriorating, and he sought immediate medical attention. Upon arrival, he followed the prescribed formalities and approached the doctor on duty. However, according to the father, the doctor was reportedly resting under a quilt and refused to examine the child. Instead, the doctor allegedly claimed that the child had already been medicated by a chemist and was sedated. He then advised the father to let the child rest and return in the morning.

Following the doctor's response, in a state of desperation and helplessness, the father sat on a chair inside the hospital, praying for his child’s condition to improve. However, the child soon lost consciousness. Frantic and in a state of panic the father searched for a way to transport his child to PGI Chandigarh. According to the news reports, a taxi driver came to his aid and swiftly covered the distance in just 25 minutes. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the doctors at PGI declared the child dead on arrival.

This incident has raised concerns about the quality of care provided at the hospital. Following the death of his 4-year-old child, the father has accused the hospital administration of medical negligence.

Bipan Kumar has accused the hospital administration of negligence and demanded strict action against the doctor.
