Agartala Medical College performs first successful kidney transplant on 20-year-old patient

According to an IANS report, after the six-and-a-half-hour surgery at the hospital, Medical Superintendent Sankar Chakraborty said that a team of doctors had successfully transplanted a kidney from Munna Saha Sutradhar to her son, Subham Sutradhar. 

On the condition of the patient, Postsangbam said, "The kidney transplant went smoothly. The patient started passing good urine. Previously the patient was anuric. He was not passing any urine before the kidney transplantation. With the transplantation, the kidney passes urine", news agency ANI reported.

"In our last assessment, he was outputting 1 liter per hour urine which is a good quality of urine. We hope the patient does well, as today is the first day of the transplant. We hope that he continues to show further improvements. As he recovers he will be planned for discharge according to the team of satisfaction of the team of AGMC and GBP Hospital, Tripura," he added.
