Asia Healthcare Holdings acquires majority stake in AINU for Rs 600 crore

Bengaluru: Asia Healthcare Holdings (AHH), the single speciality healthcare delivery platform, has acquired a majority stake in Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology ( AINU ), India’s largest single specialty hospital network of Urology & Nephrology Care with a presence in four cities and pioneering work in Robotic Urology Surgery. AHH will make an investment of 600cr in the company through a mix of primary and secondary infusion.

This acquisition and AHH’s foray into Urology and Nephrology segment marks its expansion into a fourth speciality making it the largest and only single speciality healthcare delivery platform in India and the broader Asian sub-continent. AHH was launched in 2017 and since then has scaled enterprises in Oncology (CTSI ), Women & Children’s ( Motherhood Hospitals ), IVF & Fertility ( Nova IVF ) which have all attained leadership positions within their respective domains.

AINU was founded in 2013 by a team of leading Urologists and nephrologists led by Dr C Mallikarjuna and Dr P C Reddy, since then it has become a pioneering hospital network in the Urology & Nephrology clinical specialty in the country. The company currently operates seven hospitals across Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Siliguri and Chennai. The network has more than 500 beds, has treated more than 400,000 patients and completed over 50,000 procedures.

AINU has taken a leadership position in the country in the area of robotic urology surgery having completed over 1,000 surgeries with the use of robotic technology. On the Nephrology front more than 200,000 dialysis and 300 kidney transplants have been performed by the enterprise.

AINU provides state-of-the-art treatment for urology conditions across its network. Its comprehensive services include diagnostics and treatment for stone disease, urology cancers, prostate diseases, reconstructive urology surgery, laparoscopic urology, and Andrology. The Nephrology Department offers treatment for acute, chronic, and end-stage renal diseases (ESRD), along with a state-of-the-art dialysis unit equipped with High-End Hemodiafiltration (HDF) Machines to ensure provide superior clinical outcomes.

There are 6,000 qualified Urologists and 3,500 Nephrologists in India. Approximately 350 Urologists and 250 nephrologists graduate each year in India and the rise of laparoscopic, endoscopic and robotic surgical options gives a compelling growth opportunity for AINU to scale across the metros and tier 2 cities in the country.
