Colonel Dr Avnish Seth to lead Gastroenterology and Hepatology at HCMCT Medical Hospital

Delhi: As a pioneer in healthcare and India's second-largest multi-specialty healthcare service providers, HCMCT Manipal Hospitals has announced the appointment of Dr (Col) Avnish Seth as the Head of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

He will also drive all organ and tissue donation initiatives at Manipal Hospitals. Dr. Seth has over 25 years of expertise in Gastroenterology & Liver Diseases including many clinical landmarks first in his field and was honoured with the Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India in 2009.

Dr Avnish Seth and his team will strengthen the Gastroenterology & Hepatology program and also the Organ Retrieval and Transplant to provide the best possible care for patients in Delhi NCR. Dr. Seth was a part of the team that established the first successful liver transplant program in a government hospital at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi, in 2007 and was the first doctor to carry out Stool Transplantation in the country in 2014. He is member of Apex Technical Committee of National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) and his S-DOT (Seth-Donation of Organs & Tissues) score is widely quoted to assess hospitals for best practices in organ donation.

Dr. Seth's expertise lies in the areas of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including pediatric endoscopy and management of all gastrointestinal and liver diseases. He has memberships and fellowships from some of the most prestigious institutions in the world. A recognized postgraduate teacher for 20 years, he has over 10 publications to his name.
