Doctor assaulted, Hospital vandalised after 86-year-old patient's death

Following his death, around 6 relatives including three women arrived at the hospital accusing the doctors and medical staff of negligence. They claimed that the poor treatment led to the patient's death. 

Even though the security personnel and hospital staff tried to control the situation, the relatives refused to listen and resorted to violence. They allegedly abused and physically assaulted the doctor, medical staff and even a female security staff.

Soon after, the relatives lifted wooden stools and damaged the glass panels of the electric room. This caused major chaos and ruckus at the hospital disrupting the environment and creating panic among patients. 

The hospital management informed the police, who promptly arrived at the scene to de-escalate the situation. Senior police officials, including Assistant Police Commissioner Rahul Aware and Inspector Dashrath Patil, were part of the team who assessed the situation.

Later, the doctor who was allegedly assaulted by the kin filed a complaint at the police station. Based on this, the police registered a case under the Maharashtra Medical Services Act against six relatives and an investigation is underway.
