Fire Erupts in Storage Room of Balasore DHH, Promptly Doused
Balasore: A fire erupted in the sweeper office of Balasore District Headquarters Hospital on Saturday, briefly alarming the staff and patients' attendants. Fortunately, no major damage occurred, and hospital services were not disrupted.

All the materials stored in the room, including Phynael, some clothing items, and spirits, have been burned to ashes. However, the fire has not caused any major loss, reports Kalinga TV.
Authorities also noted that an employee who reportedly resides in the storeroom was absent at the time of the incident.
Patients’ attendants first noticed smoke coming from the storeroom and alerted hospital authorities, who immediately sought the fire department’s assistance. Fire department personnel reached the spot shortly after and successfully extinguished the flames.
According to Odisha TV, Hospital authorities and fire officials have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause and examine whether safety measures were properly followed.
The hospital management has assured that electrical systems and fire safety measures will be reviewed and strengthened. Staff emphasised the need for regular inspections to prevent similar accidents in the future.
