Foetus found in toilet of Ludhiana hospital, FIR filed
Ludhiana: A shocking incident unfolded at Bhagwan Ram Charitable Hospital near Daresi, Ludhiana where a fetus has been found abandoned in the complex’s bathroom on Tuesday.
The fetus was discovered behind the toilet seat inside the hospital building by the security guard of the hospital. Following this, the security guard immediately alerted the hospital authorities.
According to the statements of the hospital authorities, there were no female patients admitted to the hospital when this incident was discovered. Moreover, no blood stains were found in the area where the fetus was abandoned. Hence, they suspect that it was brought to the hospital from outside.

Meanwhile, the police have suspicions regarding two females who were captured on the hospital's CCTV footage. It is believed that they may be involved in the disposal of the fetus, as they were observed carrying two bags close to the bathroom.
An FIR has been registered under section 316 (causing death of a quick unborn child by act amounting to culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the unidentified accused after the hospital authorities involved the police in the matter.
Speaking to HT, Vikas Gupta, an accountant at Bhagwan Ram Charitable Hospital, Daresi said, “Someone left the foetus behind the toilet seat. There were no blood stains, which suggested that the foetus was brought from elsewhere. We immediately informed the police. The women caught in the CCTV were seen entering the hospital around 10 am holding two bags in their hands. They were spotted roaming around the bathroom and left soon after.”
In response to this, the police are presently conducting an inquiry into the identities of the two females, the motive behind their wandering near the restroom while carrying bags and whether the fetus was disposed of by someone outside or inside the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the fetus to the Civil Hospital for postmortem to identify the gender.
Sub-inspector Ranjit Singh, who is investigating the case, said, "The sex of the foetus is yet to be ascertained. Police will check records of hospitals, nursing homes and midwives to get information on pregnant women."
Therefore, an investigation into this case is underway and the culprit behind the activity will be nabbed soon.
