Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai partners with Medtronic to launch Renal Denervation Therapy Centre
Mumbai: Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, has announced a partnership with Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, to establish a specialized Renal Denervation therapy centre. This collaboration hopes to address the growing challenge of uncontrolled hypertension and to encourage effective management of uncontrolled hypertension.
Hypertension is a major cause of premature death worldwide and has been a key contributor to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, globally as well as in India. One of the major gaps that physicians face is the lack of awareness amongst patients to control their high blood pressure, which is a significant cause for uncontrolled hypertension.
Speaking on the partnership, Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director & Vice President, Medtronic India, said, “Uncontrolled hypertension remains a growing and often unrecognized challenge in cardiovascular care, and its rising burden underscores the urgent need to reevaluate how care is delivered. Our partnership with Gleneagles Hospital is focused on delivering real-world impact by working closely with its clinical teams to strengthen awareness and to enable a more coordinated, structured approach to its diagnosis and management.

This collaboration aims to support improved blood pressure control and better long-term outcomes for patients with complex and uncontrolled hypertension. At Medtronic, our mission is to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life, and collaborations like this are central to that commitment.”
Commenting on the collaboration, Dr Bipin Chevale, CEO, Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, said, “Hypertension management continues to be challenged by delayed diagnosis, fragmented care and inconsistent follow‑up. Partnering with Medtronic enables Gleneagles Hospital to adopt a more structured and coordinated approach to uncontrolled hypertension by integrating clinical expertise, advanced technology and patient‑centric care pathways. This collaboration is focused on achieving long‑term blood pressure control and reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications, ultimately improving outcomes for patients with uncontrolled hypertension.”
Through this collaboration, the partners aim to strengthen the management of complex and uncontrolled hypertension by building integrated care pathways and enhancing clinical capabilities. The hospital’s multidisciplinary teams and established patient access enable long-term, holistic management of patients with difficult-to-control blood pressure. Medtronic supports this effort through its experience in evidence-based technologies, and ongoing medical education and training for clinicians — helping advance treatment pathways and ultimately improve patient outcomes and ensure holistic management of patients who face difficulty to control blood pressure.
The Centre aims to raise awareness about the impact of high blood pressure and will play a key role in educating patients on uncontrolled hypertension, including lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and access to advanced treatment options such as renal denervation therapy.
