Hyderabad woman dies after childbirth, family seeks action over alleged negligence

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman died after undergoing a C-section delivery at a private hospital in Saifabad, Hyderabad, with her family alleging that lapses in medical care contributed to her death. The family has demanded action against the hospital staff and doctors involved. 

According to reports, the woman was admitted to Vijay Marie Hospital for delivery. Her condition reportedly deteriorated following the caesarean procedure. Her family has alleged that she did not receive appropriate medical care and later died at the hospital.

The hospital allegedly did not have a stock of extra blood, which caused her death. The deceased is survived by two daughters, a three-year-old and one whom she had just given birth to, the Siasat Daily reported. 

The matter came to light after an AIMIM MLA visited the hospital and sought immediate action against those allegedly responsible. He urged the police to register a case and take action if the allegations of negligence are established. 

During the interaction with police, the MLA pressed for immediate action and said, "Section 41 of the CrPC should be invoked at any cost. There should be a direct remand. If that does not happen, then I will come and sit in front of your police station", India Today reported.  

The family has questioned the treatment provided at the hospital and alleged that hospital staff and doctors failed to provide proper care. The demand for criminal action is based on these allegations, while the exact cause of death and whether any medical negligence occurred will have to be determined through the appropriate investigation.

The case also highlights the need to establish the treatment sequence, the woman's medical condition at the time of admission, the care provided as her condition worsened, and the circumstances immediately preceding her death.
