ICMR allots 800 bedded AIIMS Jhajjar exclusively for COVID-19 patients

New Delhi: Making a move towards setting up standalone hospitals exclusively for the treatment of coronavirus patients, the government has now assigned the newly built 800 bedded building of AIIMS Jhajjar for the said purposes
AIIMS building in Haryana's Jhajjar will be used exclusively to treat COVID-19 patients, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director-General Balram Bhargava said here on Sunday.

"This will be a better idea to treat people suffering from Covid-19 in designated hospitals. We have identified National Cancer Institute under All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for Covid-19 ,which is a 800-bed hospital in Haryana's Jhajjar," said Balram Bhargava, Director General at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi and Secretary, Department of Health Research, a division under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
