During interrogation, the accused reportedly admitted to close ties with the prime accused and connections with individuals allegedly involved in facilitating the scheme. Police said he confessed that the victims were deliberately manipulated by portraying their families and religious beliefs, gradually pushing them toward conversion under the pretext of marriage.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in the ongoing probe against the 31-year-old resident doctor at King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, for alleged sexual exploitation and forced religious conversion, investigators are focusing on uncovering his modus operandi and potential connections to a wider network operating across Uttar Pradesh, senior officials said.
Investigators also alleged that the co-accused signed marriage documents as a witness, directly facilitating formalized marriages following forced conversions. Police added that he had recently obtained a passport and was reportedly planning to flee abroad to evade arrest. A non-bailable warrant (NBW) had earlier been issued against him by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Lucknow.
The case was registered on December 23, following a complaint by a female MD Pathology student at KGMU. Based on her complaint, FIR No. 302/2025 was lodged at Chowk police station under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2021, reports TOI.
