Thane: KIMS Hospitals in Thane city has launched the region's first AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, marking its first-of-its-kind initiative in partnership with Medulance.

This cutting-edge ambulance system is set to transform pre-hospital critical care by enabling real-time, AI-based patient monitoring and seamless 5G connectivity.

Unveiled during a press briefing and live demonstration held at KIMS Hospitals, the smart ambulance showcased its ability to transmit vital patient data—including ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation—live to the Emergency Room while en route.

Unlike standard 5G-enabled ambulances, this next-generation system integrates artificial intelligence to continuously analyse patient vitals during transit, allowing emergency doctors to initiate care protocols before the patient arrives.

“The golden hour can mean the difference between life and death in cases of trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke,” said Dr Ankit Biyani, HOD – Emergency Medicine at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, news agency UNI reported.

By merging 5G connectivity with AI capabilities, we aim to significantly reduce emergency response times and save more lives through unparalleled medical excellence for the people of Thane and Maharashtra”, reports UNI.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a step towards transforming emergency care, Artemis Hospitals, Gurugram, in collaboration with Medulance healthcare, unveiled 5G-enabled advanced ambulances, a hospital official said.

The initiative is set to transform emergency care by harnessing the power of next-gen 5G connectivity, AI-driven diagnostics, and real-time telemedicine to ensure a quicker and more effective response during critical moments, the official said.
