Lilavati inaugurates first clinic in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Lilavati Clinic & Wellness, a new venture by promoters of Mumbai's famed Lilavati Hospital, inaugurated a state-of-the-art healthcare facility in their personal capacity in Ahmedabad on Monday, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of the community through comprehensive healthcare services.

The clinic, spread over 8,000 square feet, is equipped with the latest medical equipment and staffed by a team of experienced healthcare professionals, and will offer a wide array of medical services and diagnostic tools.

Mr. Prashant Mehta, Promoter of Lilavati Clinic & Wellness, said, “We are excited to bring this new healthcare facility to the people of Ahmedabad. This is the best clinic of its kind in Gujarat. Our mission is to provide accessible and world-class healthcare services while promoting overall well-being through our holistic wellness programs. We aim to make advanced healthcare accessible to all and look forward to serving the community by making a positive impact on their health and lives.”

The Outpatient Departments (OPD) facility boasts seven well-equipped consulting rooms catering to various specialities and will be operational from 9 am to 9 pm, ensuring comprehensive care for patients. The clinic provides advanced diagnostic services such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiogram (ECHO), Stress Test (TMT), Advanced X-ray, Ultrasound (USG), including short stay (Day Care) and Minor Procedure room services. The Centre also have preventive health check-up packages to suit various age groups. Lilavati is also the first Dentsply set up for a dental department in Gujarat, making it a comprehensive clinic.

“This is our first clinic. Being from Gujarat, we have launched our first clinic in Ahmedabad. We plan to open 50 such clinics in major cities in India in the next five years,” Mr Mehta said.

Located at Iscon-Ambli Road, the Lilavati Clinic & Wellness is designed to meet diverse healthcare needs, offering both preventive and curative treatments. With its comprehensive range of services and cutting-edge technology, it is set to become a cornerstone of quality healthcare in Ahmedabad.

The clinic’s inauguration was attended by several prominent figures from the healthcare industry, local government officials, and community leaders.

Mr Mehta also shared that the multi-speciality Lilavati Hospital in GIFT City is on track for a full-fledged opening in August 2025. The construction of the 350-bed hospital is being undertaken at a cost of more than Rs. 500 crore. The hospital’s first phase is projected to become operational by March.

Separately, the promoters plan to open five hospitals in different cities for Rs. 4,000 crore in the next five years. The hospitals are expected to come up in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Assam.

Mr Prashant Mehta is the Permanent Trustee of the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, which runs the premier multi-specialty “Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre” in Mumbai. He is the son of Founder Trustees i.e. Late Shri Kishor Mehta and Smt Charu Mehta. Conceptualised and built by them, the Hospital has received various prestigious awards in the field of medical excellence and has been voted one of the topmost hospitals in the country.
