Over 65 suffer eye infections after Using Hair Loss Solution

Patiala: An unauthorized hair restoration camp in Sangrur, Punjab, has left at least 65 individuals with eye infections, resulting in a medical emergency at the local civil hospital.The incident has raised significant public health concerns, as several participants reported ocular discomfort after a substance was applied to their scalps during the camp.

The camp, which attracted participants from Sangrur, Barnala, and Mansa districts, was advertised as an opportunity to promote hair regrowth through oil treatment. However, the instructions given to the participants were far from clear. Attendees were advised to cleanse their heads 10-15 minutes after applying the oil. Unfortunately, after washing their heads at home, many participants began experiencing severe ocular discomfort, prompting emergency visits to the hospital.

Dr. Vaibhav Mittal, a private eye specialist based in Sangrur, reported that he had examined 40 patients by Monday morning.

According to the Hindustan Times, the police also denied granting any permission to hold the camp. DSP, special branch, Sanjeev Singla said, “So far, none of the patients has come forward to lodge a complaint against the organizer. But we have learned that an individual from Khanna claimed to have a treatment that could regrow hair and held the camp. Efforts are on to trace him.”
