Prescribe medicines available in Govt hospital pharmacies: UP Deputy CM directs doctors

If medical representatives are found in government hospitals, action should be taken immediately by filing a case and sending them to prison, Pathak said on Wednesday while inspecting the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here.

He directed the chief medical officer and the chief medical superintendent to ensure that government doctors prescribe medicines that are available in hospital pharmacies. Pathak also asked them to keep adequate stock of medicines in hospitals as there was no shortage of budget.

Inspecting the newly constructed Jal Jeevan Mission project in Ratanpur village of Kamalganj, the deputy chief minister said it is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that pure drinking water facility is available to every family in the rural areas.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that two multi-speciality hospitals with a 400-bed facility each will likely be set up in Lucknow and the Varanasi-Mirzapur border following investments promised during the investors' summit in February. While a hospital group has evinced interest in setting up a 400-bed facility in Lucknow, the state health department has received another proposal for a multi-speciality hospital with a similar bed strength on the Varanasi-Mirzapur border.
