Probe ordered after Needle Left Embedded in Girl's Arm Following Tetanus Jab in UP
Hamirpur: A hospital staff at the district hospital in Hamirpur allegedly left a needle embedded in a girl's arm after administering a tetanus injection for a cut caused by a sickle. The incident has prompted an investigation by the health department following protests by the girl's family.
According to the PTI report, Dr RS Prajapati, the acting chief medical superintendent (CMS) of the hospital, said the incident occurred at around 8 pm on Saturday.
The incident took place on Saturday evening when Ruby, a resident of Khalepura locality in Hamirpur, brought her 18-year-old daughter Mahak to the hospital's emergency ward for a tetanus injection after she sustained a cut from a sickle.
After receiving the jab, the girl returned home with her mother, Prajapati said.
