Relief to Cancer patients: AIIMS Delhi to now offer OPD registrations from 8am to 1pm

New Delhi: In a bid to provide significant relief to cancer patients, a revised timing of OPD registrations has been announced by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute-Rotary Cancer Hospital (DBRAIRCH). The patient registration in OPD will be done from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. on all working days.
The OPD registrations will be done from 8 am to 1 pm on all working days. Earlier, the patients had to register for OPD appointments between 8 am and 11.30 am. "The timing of patients' registration in OPD at DBRAIRCH-AIIMS is revised. No patient will be sent from OPD without consultation, the letter stated. The order said that screening OPD will be conducted from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with one resident from different departments on a rotation basis, IANS reports.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the appointment of Dr. M Srinivas, Dean, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Hyderabad, as Director, All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The order, dated 23rd September 2022, issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, said the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had approved the appointment of Dr. Srinivas to the post of Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
The OPD time has been revised after new AIIMS director Dr. M. Srinivas has taken charge.
Among other initiatives, the AIIMS has also decided to provide a transport facility to commute Oncology Patients from BRAIRH to NCI, Jhajjar Campus.
Srinivas, who earlier served as the Dean of ESIC Hospital and Medical College in Hyderabad, is now tasked with steering the country's most sought-after medical institute. ''All concerned are hereby informed that henceforth all the files be submitted to the undersigned in e-file mode only unless the matter is confidential and cannot be submitted in e-filing mode,'' the office memorandum issued said.
