Ranchi: The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) will now provide immediate financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to families of patients who die during treatment. The decision was approved during a Governing Body meeting held on Thursday, chaired by retired Justice Amareshwar Sahay.
Unlike earlier procedures, where payments were often delayed due to bank transfer processes, the amount will now be disbursed instantly via UPI at the hospital itself. According to hospital officials, the projected annual expenditure for this initiative is around Rs 7 crore.
