Safdarjung Hospital unveils new 17-bed Geriatric Care Ward
New Delhi: Safdarjung Hospital, one of India's premier public healthcare institutions, is proud to announce the successful inauguration of its new Geriatric Care Ward under the Department of Medicine. This facility, dedicated to providing specialized care for elderly patients, addresses the unique healthcare needs of India's growing senior population.
The ward was officially inaugurated today, September 17, by Dr Vandana Talwar, Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital.
Dr Porwal, HOD Medicine, emphasized, "Our goal is to provide comprehensive care that addresses not just the physical ailments but also the emotional and social needs of our elderly patients. This ward represents our commitment to holistic geriatric care."
Dr Ashwani, in charge of the Geriatric Unit, highlighted the importance of the new ward, stating, "This is only the second dedicated geriatric care unit in Delhi. It represents a major step forward in providing specialized care for our elderly population, addressing a critical need in our healthcare system."
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Additional Medical Superintendent Dr P.S. Bhatia, Dr Kapil Suri, and Dr R.P. Arora, HODs from various dept, Faculty, and staff.
