Srinivas Medical College partners with NMPA to construct multi-specialty hospital
Mangaluru: Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre and New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) signed a concession agreement on Friday, June 7 at Hotel Saffron here.
Chief guest of the programme, New Mangalore Port Authority (chairperson Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju said, “Health is essential for living a happy life. With its large population, India aims to boost the nation's economy. Business is crucial, but the health of the citizens is equally important. Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the health sector are vital due to India's substantial population.”
Srinivas University chancellor Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao presided over the programme and said, “My ambition is to provide quality treatment and all necessary facilities as soon as possible. A 24/7 service will be offered without compromising the quality of care.”

Chief guest of the programme medical health and family welfare officer (DHO) of Mangaluru Dr H R Thimmaiah said, “Life will be better if we change our hobbies and habits. If there is a problem in life, there is no need to change the boat, if you change the direction, you can reach the goal.”
Srinivas University pro-chancellor Dr A Srinivas Rao said, “We are pleased to associate with NMPA. Health is indeed wealth, and after the impact of COVID, everyone recognises the importance of health. We will serve society by enhancing the facilities in our hospital.”
NMPA financial advisor and chief accounts officer Vinayak Rao B S said, “We identified a shortage of doctors and equipment, leading us to consider operating a primary health center. Concurrently, the government also recognized the need for private partnership arrangements in every port. Thus, we conceived the idea for this hospital, which is set to benefit everyone.”
Srinivas University pro-chancellor Dr A. Srinivas Rao and chief medical officer of NMPA Hospital Dr Surekha N. Hoskeri signed the concession agreement. Srinivas University Board of governors trustee members A Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Prof A Mitra S Rao, Meghana S Rao, Samana S Rao, Srinivas University evaluation registrar Dr Srinivas Mayya D, and all deans were present.
Srinivas University development registrar Dr Ajay Kumar welcomed the gathering, and Srinivas Hospital medical superintendent Dr David Rosario delivered the vote of thanks. Srinivas University registrar Dr Anil Kumar compered the programme.
