Chennai: In a shocking incident, a ward attendant from Government Stanley Medical College Hospital was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a 55-year-old woman at her home in Korukkupet.
According to police, the woman, who lives with her family, suffers from severe diabetes. After undergoing a surgical procedure that required the amputation of a portion of her right foot, she was unable to visit the hospital for follow-up care and was receiving treatment at home.

Speaking to the Hindu, the police said that when the woman raised an alarm, he allegedly threatened her before fleeing the scene.
Following a complaint filed at the R.K. Nagar police station, authorities registered a case against the accused. He was arrested and later remanded to judicial custody after interrogation.
Police investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the misconduct. This incident has raised concerns about the safety of patients receiving in-home medical care.
