Director, Tata Memorial Centre, Dr Sudeep Gupta, highlighted the rising incidence of breast cancer among women in India and emphasized that early detection through regular screening significantly improves treatment outcomes and long-term survival. He noted that the newly commissioned digital mammography system would further enhance the hospital’s capacity for early and accurate detection of breast cancer.

Pramesh, affirmed that the installation of this advanced imaging equipment would significantly strengthen the hospital’s breast cancer screening and diagnostic services, enabling earlier diagnosis and improved treatment outcomes. He reiterated Tata Memorial Hospital’s commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and comprehensive patient care.
Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis, Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. Suyash Kulkarni, explained that the advanced system combines high-resolution imaging with Artificial Intelligence to assist clinicians in identifying suspicious areas with greater accuracy and efficiency. He added that the technology is particularly beneficial for detecting cancers in dense breast tissue and helps reduce the need for additional imaging, thereby enabling quicker diagnosis and timely intervention.
