Tripura Allocates Rs 100 Crore for New Eye Hospital

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the state government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the establishment of a modern eye hospital. This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services in the state. 

Speaking at a World Health Day program organized by the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura, Chief Minister Saha highlighted the state’s commitment to improving healthcare facilities for its residents.

According to TOI, "In this year's budget, we have kept Rs 100 crore for an eye hospital with all facilities, and we are also opening more primary health centres (PHCs) across the state. Now private hospitals and investors are coming to the state as peace is prevailing here. We want everyone to stay happy. The health sector has seen development in the state," CM Saha said.

In addition to these new healthcare projects, Chief Minister Saha highlighted the ongoing work in infrastructure development within the healthcare sector. He also mentioned that they have received over Rs 150 crore from MDoNER.

Speaking to TOI, Saha said, “ Work is underway for the infrastructure development.... Prevention is better than cure. If we remain alert beforehand, then we will also remain disease-free,"

CM Saha also addressed critical health concerns affecting the state, including lifestyle-related diseases and rising drug abuse. The state has also seen a rise in the number of injectable drug users, contributing to an increase in HIV/AIDS cases.
