Verify credentials! Delhi Medical Council warns hospitals against unqualified doctors, medical staff treating patients
New Delhi: Taking cognisance of the instances where unqualified/underqualified individuals and doctors are treating patients in many hospitals, nursing homes and other clinical establishments, the Delhi Medical Council (DMC) has directed all Hospital owners to check out the credentials of their employees.
Further, the Council has also asked the doctors visiting such hospitals or nursing homes to ensure that their patients are receiving medical care from qualified persons.
Issuing a Public Notice in this regard, DMC mentioned, "It has come to the notice of Delhi Medical Council that many hospitals, nursing homes and other clinical establishments using modern medical science (Allopathy) are employing Doctors/Medical staff who are either unqualified/underqualified or qualified in other branches for the treatment of the patients. This is against the law and a punishable act. Therefore It is requested that all Hospital owners to please check out the credentials of the employees."
