clinicsIndore: As many as 85 health care and wellness centres will be established soon under the theme of "Swacch Indore to Swasth Indore" by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).

These new health centres are known as Mukhyamantri Sanjivani Clinics which will primarily cover about 25,000 people who are financially weak and are mainly from a poor section of the city.

According to officials, the state government has allotted a budget of ₹25 lakhs for the construction and up-gradation of each clinic. The project will be carried out under the supervision and direction of the chief medical and health officer (CMHO).

Abhay Ranjhangaokar, IMC's additional commissioner told TOI, "We have started identification of suitable places to construct new buildings to develop the clinics while the health department has made available a list of around 30 existing clinics, buildings of which will also be upgraded."

"While identification of suitable government lands to construct new buildings to open 'Mukhyamantri Sanjivani Clinic' has already started, we are expecting tenders for the same to be floated in the next couple of weeks" he added.

The government said that they will recruit staff either on a contract basis or will be deployed from existing employees of the health department or from the medical college. At each centre, a doctor, nurse, lab technician, pharmacist and peon will be employed.
