The history of the case goes back to 2019, when, reportedly, two women misled the pregnant woman and directed her family from a government hospital to a private facility.

Accordingly, the patient was admitted to Star Hospital and Laparoscopic Centre. However, the patient's family claimed that during the delivery operation, negligence by the doctor and staff resulted in the patient's death. This resulted in a six-year-long legal battle, the Free Press Journal has reported.
Finally, granting relief to the patient's family, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) on Tuesday directed the treating doctor to compensate the patient's family.
The Court ordered the treating doctor to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation, along with Rs 5,000 for litigation costs and mental anguish, reports the Free Press Journal
For making the payment, the doctor has been given two months by the consumer court. Meanwhile, in response to the Consumer Court's order, the doctor informed the Daily that the hospital had been closed since 2022. He also added that he would decide his next steps after reviewing the full court order.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Rajasthan High Court recently denied granting relief to a doctor, who filed a plea seeking to quash the FIR and subsequent proceedings in a case of medical negligence and cheating. The doctor was booked for medical negligence during the treatment of the complainant's daughter-in-law for her first pregnancy. She was undergoing treatment for the pregnancy under the accused doctor's supervision at a Jaipur-based hospital.
Allegedly, during the investigation, it was found that the petitioner was not a qualified Gynecologist and deceptively shown herself to be an expert Gynecologist so as to induce the innocent pregnant women to get themselves treated by her during their pregnancy and for delivery of the child as well.
