Patiala : Daughter of an Anganwadi worker gains admission in The Government Medical College
Patiala: Patiala based Naseeb Kaur, at the age of 18 years has proved that learning knows no bounds by a getting admission in Government Medical College (GMC), Patiala. She is all set to to grab her white coat . She was a meritorious student of the government school in Bathinda. After losing her father, her mother is the only breadwinner of the family earning Rs 4,800 per month.
"I have never even dared to dream of becoming a doctor. It was only after I scored good marks in the medical entrance that I could think of becoming a doctor," said Naseeb after the achievement. Talking about her journey Naseeb said that since her medium of education was Punjabi till Class X, the first obstacle she encountered in Class XI was the English language. "It took time to learn English words initially, but I caught up with the language soon. Besides, I cleared my concepts by watching YouTube videos during the lockdown," she stated .
Naseeb told The Tribune if teachers provide guidance and advice to more government school students, they will be able to follow their dreams and become doctors and engineers. "I wish more students like me get into the medical colleges and fulfil their dream. My teacher, Japneet Kaur, and other staff members of my school helped me a lot in achieving this feat," she added.
She further affirmed to try hard to be a good doctor and help the society in general and the poor in particular.
