Srinagar Clinic Sealed for Providing Unproven Medical Treatments

The Head of the Department of Paediatrics at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar recently addressed the severity of the situation in an official letter. In the communique, the doctor urged the Principal of GMC Srinagar to take stronger measures against quackery.

According to Greater Kashmir, the official communique reads, “With profound reverence and humble submission, I request your esteemed self to protect public health and safety. We need to take strong measures against the practice of quackery,” reads the official communique.

The communique emphasized the need to protect public health and safety, stating that over the past few years, several cases of acute liver failure have been reported in patients previously discharged from this hospital. After leaving, they sought miracle cures in Dara Harwan, where they received unproven medical treatments and complementary therapies. This led to their admission to the ICU with acute liver failure, and unfortunately, death.

Furthermore, the communique urges that all necessary measures be taken against such unqualified individuals to safeguard future generations.
