Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has called upon the medical fraternity to intensify the research in the field for innovations.

The Governor also highlighted the need for more publications in the medical journals to share their research findings to spread awareness and facilitate further advanced research.

Addressing after launching the Skill Lab and releasing the medical research journal titled "Anusandhaan," at the AIIMS, Bibinagar near here, she said ``Creating awareness about the research findings and helping to spread the awareness about the advanced medical treatment and procedures were vital.".

Dr Tamilisai also underscored the importance of constantly honing the skills of the medical practitioners and hoped the setting up of a modern Skill Lab would go a long way in skill development.

The Governor also stressed upon creating awareness among the people and the rural medical practitioners about the concepts like the zero hour or golden hour to save many precious lives in times of emergency.

The Governor lauded the initiative taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in expanding the AIIMS and setting up new institutions across the country to offer affordable and accessible quality medical care to the needy in rural areas.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of the doctors, staff, and students of the AIIMS, Bibinagar, for their services during the COVID pandemic and for offering quality services to the patients.

"Government hospitals and the institutions need to offer the best possible quality medical care to the rural population and win their confidence," she said.

Referring to the Ayushman Bharat medical insurance scheme being offered by the Central Government, Dr Tamilisai stated that it had helped lakhs of people to get the best possible medical help and have immensely benefited through it.

On the occasion, the Governor joined the staff and students in the tree plantation drive taken up at the AIIMS campus.
