Telangana Medical Council warns Public against Illegal Online Lab Tests

Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TMC) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding illegal online lab tests and unauthorized health campaigns being conducted by fraudulent operators in the state.

The council recently learned of a camp being held under the name of the 'Kakatiya Health Care Centre' on the CKM College Grounds in Desaipet, Warangal. Dr V. Naresh Kumar, the chairman of the council's public relations committee, stated that the camp was organized without government approval and accused the organization of misleading the public.

As per the recent media report by Hans India, Dr Kumar said one Mukka Arun Kumar from Jangaon district, who studied lab technician, was running a camp in the name of Kakatiya Health Care Centre without government permission and is conducting blood tests at the lowest prices. When an inquiry was conducted, the address mentioned by him was found to be fake and without the proper testing equipment and permission from the district medical officer. The administrator was left speechless when officials questioned how reports were being issued without them.

One of the most concerning aspects of the scam was the issuance of lab reports bearing the name of a well-known pathologist, Dr Sunkari Naresh Babu. officials contacted the doctor and when questioned about his involvement, Dr Naresh Babu denied any association with the camp or the fraudulent reports. Further investigation revealed that all the lab reports issued by the Kakatiya Health Care Centre were fake.

When the center's administrator, identified as Kumar, was questioned about the situation, he initially claimed to have an MoU with Manipal Laboratories, Hyderabad. However, when officials requested to see the agreement, an astonished Kumar confessed to the deception and admitted his mistake.

Additionally, Dr Sunkari Naresh Babu and Dr. Pratima, whose names were wrongly associated with the fraudulent reports, would also be served notices by the council.
