Accident at Aurobindo Pharma subsidiary facility, 1 died

Hyderabad: Through a recent BSE filing, Aurobindo Pharma has informed about the accident near Vacuum Tray Dryer (VTD) area at Unit 6 of Apitoria Pharma Private Limited, situated at Parawada, Anakapalli District, Andhra Pradesh.  Apitoria Pharma Private Limited is a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma.

Regrettably, the incident resulted in one casualty.

"On April 6, 2024 at around 11:30 PM (IST), an accident occurred near Vacuum Tray Dryer (VTD) area at Unit 6 of Apitoria Pharma Private Limited, situated at Parawada, Anakapalli District, Andhra Pradesh. Unfortunately, there was one casualty due to the accident," the Company stated.

"The unit continues its normal operations," it added.

According to The New Indian Express,  the deceased has been identified as 35-year-old A Govind.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that 6 persons had died in the explosion within a chemical reactor at a facility of pharmaceutical firm in Telangana's Sangareddy district. The deceased include the Company's director and workers of the unit. They belong to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.
