AIOCD asks Mankind Pharma to take down HealthOk ad endorsed by Ranvir Singh, calls it misleading
New Delhi: The All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) has called for the removal of an advertisement featuring actor Ranveer Singh/ranvir Singh promoting HealthOk vitamin supplements. The ad suggests that non-vegetarians are healthier, which the chemists' body finds objectionable and calls it misleading.
The chemist body argues that the ad is deceptive and contradicts the well-known health benefits of vegetarianism, implying that vegetarians are more prone to vitamin deficiencies and that HealthOk can prevent this.
The campaign states that one in three Indians is vegetarian and suggests they are at risk of vitamin deficiency. AIOCD highlights the significance of vegetarianism in India, supported by the Prime Minister and many chief ministers, and claims that the advertisement promotes an inaccurate and potentially harmful narrative.
