Alkem Labs Receives Rs 9.72 Lakh GST Demand for FY 2021-22

Calcutta: Alkem Laboratories Limited has received an order under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, 2017, from the Deputy Commissioner, Large Taxpayer Unit, Corporate Division, West Bengal, raising a tax demand of Rs 9,71,866 for the financial year 2021-22.
The order, pertaining to the company’s West Bengal GSTIN, was received on December 29, 2025.
In a regulatory filing, the company stated that the statutory authority has demanded GST of Rs 5,20,601, along with interest amounting to Rs 3,89,167 and a penalty of Rs 62,098. The demand has been raised under the applicable provisions of the IGST Act, 2017, CGST Act, 2017, and SGST Act, 2017.
