Alkem Labs Slapped Rs 2.34 Cr GST Demand in Goa

New Delhi: Alkem Laboratories Limited has received a demand order from the Additional Commissioner of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), Goa, under the Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, raising a tax demand of Rs 2.34 crore along with an equivalent amount towards interest and penalty.
In a regulatory disclosure, the pharmaceutical company stated that the order has been issued for its Goa GSTIN for the period spanning 2019–20 to 2022–23. The total GST demanded amounts to ₹2,34,61,952, with an additional ₹2,34,61,952 levied as applicable interest and penalty under the provisions of the IGST Act, 2017, CGST Act, 2017 and SGST Act, 2017.
