New Delhi: Delhi Police has seized 30 kilograms of Alprazolam tablets worth Rs one crore in the international market. Two drug peddlers, identified as Laxman (32) and Pankaj (18), have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

According to the police, they have dismantled a drug cartel supplying psychotropic substances in the capital.

The arrests were made on November 28, following a tip-off.

According to PTI, the police officer said that the duo was transporting large boxes containing 27 kilograms of Alprazolam tablets, equivalent to 2 lakh pills.

Further investigation revealed additional stockpiles of 2.4 kilograms of Alprazolam tablets from a godown in Loni in Uttar Pradesh, the officer said.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that drugs worth about Rs 2 crore were seized in a joint operation by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) at the Charbagh railway station.
