Andhra Health Minister Orders Suspension of Drug Inspector Over Corruption Allegations

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav has ordered the immediate suspension of Kakinada Urban Drug Inspector Sheikh Parveen Sultana after serious allegations of corruption surfaced against her.

According to a recent media report in The Times of India, the minister took action after receiving complaints from several pharmacy owners who accused the official of demanding regular payments. The complainants alleged that she warned them of inspections and legal action if they refused to comply with her demands.

After reviewing the complaints, the minister held discussions with officials from the Drugs Control Department and directed them to place the drug inspector under suspension. He also instructed the department to initiate a thorough investigation into the allegations.

Satya Kumar Yadav told TOI that the government follows a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption and cautioned that strict disciplinary measures would be taken against anyone found guilty of such misconduct.
